I have certainly been quite negligent when it comes to blog maintenance, so hopefully I’ll be able to make up for some of that with this post…

The past two months have really just flown by. I don’t even know that our days have been jam packed with much activity other than trips to the dog park and hikes on local trails. We’ve been counting the minutes to our trip north to Northampton and Provincetown in early October (of which there are about 18,720 remaining).

DSC01561The most exciting event over the past month was Ashley’s visit to Jersey. We hit the Philadelphia Zoo, Adventure Aquarium (this is not recommended for future visitors), went to a Phillies game (yes, they blew a lead again), saw Wicked the musical (absolultely amazing), and even wen’t Kayaking (where we learned to never again let Ashley try her luck on a rope swing). It was a wonderful visit, of which I wish there could be many more.

DSC01586There’s a new addition to our ever growing family here… Batstow is now the Beta fish in our lives. He actually has more character than I though a Beta fish could, especially when it comes to practically jumping out of the water for pellets.

The pups are doing as well as ever. Madison just graduated from her 3rd behavioral class. She’s pretty much a superstar in the classroom. Probably her most impressive “trick” is that she will sit and stay while I leave a room for over a minute, even with distractions. We’re still working on her over-excited/nervousness, it has brought new meaning to the phrase “baby steps.” Morgan is the epitomy of cuteness. He now loves the dog park and will play with pretty much any four legged friend that eggs him on. His most recent companion is a pug that is so small it can stand under him… he is truly more gentle than his somewhat moody sister. We’ve hired a dog walker to take some of the pressure off during the week. This has been a blessing. Now the pups get exercised for about a half hour while we’re at work and as a result they’re slightly more chill in the evenings.

There aren’t many other updates. Yesterday we went down to Atlantic City for the day. We took our crack at some of the table games… Blackjack and Caribbean Stud. I finished up down about $30 - not bad for a full day of entertainment. I suppose you could say that Renee finished down $245,000. She had just gotten up from the Caribbean Stud table and the guy who sat down in her place hit a Royal Flush about 2-3 hands in… $245,000 jackpot. Needless to say, we felt a little sick afterward, but it wasn’t meant for us.

DSC01533We grew Watermelon this year!!! The first one we cut open was about as un-ripe as any melon that I’ve seen… but we learned from our mistakes and the next 3 to 4 have been perfect. We considered it quite a feat since we’ve never really gone for something more ambitious than tomatoes.

I think that’s about all of the interesting news for now.
I’ve posted a few more puppy pics on the Puppy Photo Page.
And there are also pictures from Ashley’s visit HERE.
